Dusting off my WIP

I always end up putting things on hold for bigger projects or just leaving them half done somewhere. But now that Halloween is over and I've taken care of a few things I'm dusting off my work in progress projects.

I was a little careless with my KONG sculpture and let it dry out too much so I'm going to soak that in a bucket for a little. Until that's ready I'm going to finish up my a Skull mask that may end up being a version of my logo... I guess we'll see.

Here is my starting point for the Skull. Progress pictures come.

Evil Dead, Necronomicon

The Necronomicon Ex Mortis

Found a couple hollow books at Michael's and just thought I could do something awesome with it. I've always loved the Evil Dead series and thought this would be a great project and only took a couple days.
I'm only sorry I didn't take some work in progress pictures.

Supplies Needed:
- Hollow book
- Black Latex
- Tissue
- Felt
- Paint supplies

Leatherface, Pretty Woman Mask

Hey creeps, I've come up with the final paint scheme for my new Leatherface mask and it's looking creepier than ever. The Pretty Woman mask is my one of the best masks in horror so it's no surprise I'm at it again. This new version comes with a wig and attached neck piece that laces for an adjustable fit and now has the look of real rotting skin. It's also available without the neck too.

Let's hear what you guy and gals think of this homage to my favorite horror icon. And be sure to check back soon for a few customers in costume and tons of new items!

Pretty Woman mask, TCM -UNLEASHING JUNE!

Texas Chainsaw Massacre is one of the best horror films of all time and definitely one of my favorites so it should be no surprise that I'm at it again. This is the Pretty Woman mask, which is shown during the famous dinner scene.

I've been working on this mask for a few weeks, searching for reference materials, taking screen shots and trying to get the look right. There are still some details that need to be added and a few things I'd like change but I love the work so far.

If you are interested these masks will be RELEASE on JUNE at MISERY PRODUCTIONS! And the first five customer to make an order will receive a FREE bone bracelet replica from the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Mod Maniac, Zombie Mask

Just redid the hair and small features. I plan to mold it by the end of next week. I've put this project off for WAY too long so I'll be happy to see it finished.

My Mod Maniac zombie mask was about ready for molding when I had a mishap with my home made stand, that basically destroyed the neck and back of my sculpture.

I've had a bit of work to do but expect more pictures soon!

Topstone Tentacle hands

I've done a lot of work the past few days and figured this would be a  great time to take a break and posts updates. These will be added to Misery Productions in about a month if everything goes right. But for now I want to post a few pictures and say thanks to Ray Castile for high-quality photos, big thanks man!

Projects for 2012

I've got a ton of projects coming up this year. It's definitely exciting but I've got a lot of work to do so, before I crawl back to my workshop I'll give you a quick update.

A new 'Alien Grey' color scheme is now available on the Lizardmen mask. For now here is the production proto.

I'm working on a few monster products, including my Mod Maniac, as well as some Topstone inspired stuff. It shouldn't take long until all of this stuff pours onto my website so keep your eyes on Misery Productions (which is getting updated as we speak).

The first new item is based on the Topstone Octopus hands. Here's a WIP along side an original copy(photo provided by Raycastile) and the original 60's ad.

Another of my upcoming monster masks is a detailed gorilla mask. It looks tame now but once I get the anatomy set I'll begin adding more personality and emotion.

....Also, a lot of people have been asking so I'll just say I am starting a new Leatherface soon but I'm going to wait to say more, but I'm sure anyone who loved my Pretty Lady will enjoy the new sculpture. It's definitely a creepy one.
